United Accreditation Foundation (UAF) is an independent, not-for-profit accreditation body. It operates in accordance with applicable international standards and accreditation requirements while maintaining the highest levels of integrity, impartiality, transparency, and consideration of national and public interests. UAF has established an independent, impartial, and transparent accreditation system, and as a not-for-profit organization, its accreditation decisions are made free from commercial, financial, or other undue influences
Effective 1 January 2026, the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) merged to form Global Accreditation Cooperation Inc. (Global ACI). UAF is internationally recognized through its signatory status to the Global ACI Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA/MRA) for Management Systems Certification, Personnel Certification, Testing Laboratories, and Inspection Bodies, as applicable. UAF is also a signatory to the Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (APAC) Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) for applicable accreditation programmes. UAF provides accreditation to Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) in accordance with applicable international standards, including:
- Management System Certification Bodies in accordance with ISO/IEC 17021.
- Validation and Verification Bodies (VVBs) in accordance with ISO/IEC 17029 and ISO 14065.
- Personnel Certification Bodies in accordance with ISO/IEC 17024.
- Testing and Calibration Laboratories in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025.
- Inspection Bodies in accordance with ISO/IEC 17020.
- Product Certification bodies in accordance with ISO/IEC 17065.
UAF assesses the competence of Conformity Assessment Bodies against applicable international standards, mandatory documents, and UAF accreditation criteria.
